On se souviendra que 300 IFV Bradley ont été fournis par Washington aux forces ukrainiennes qui les ont intensivement utilisés.
Lu dans la livraison des attributions de marchés du DoD du 18 juillet, un avis qui pourrait démontrer qu’en dépit des vicissitudes politiciennes, le Pentagone poursuit son assistance technique à l’Ukraine dans le domaine des blindés, en particulier celui des Bradley:
« BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P., York, Pennsylvania, was awarded a $9,000,000 modification (P00003) to contract W912CH-24-C-0037 for technical inspections and to convert Bradley vehicles to be fully mission capable. Work will be performed in York, Pennsylvania, with an estimated completion date of July 10, 2026. Fiscal 2025 Security Assistance Initiative funds in the amount of $9,000,000 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity. »
Les prestations, dans le cadre de la Security Assistance Initiative, sont visiblement celles d’une remise en condition opérationnelle. Mais ont peut s’interroger sur le lieu où ces travaux seront effectués (en Ukraine?).
Le marché W912CH-24-C-003727 date du septembre 2024. Il s’agissait alors d’une FMS mais dont le nom du pays bénéficiaire n’était pas stipulé, comme le montre cet autre avis, lui aussi au profit de BAE Systems: « BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP York, Pennsylvania, was awarded a $12,000,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the conversion of Bradley M7 Fire Support Team Vehicles into Bradley M2A2 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in York, Pennsylvania, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 15, 2025. Fiscal 2023 Foreign Military Sales funds in the amount of $12,000,000 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity (W912CH-24-C-0037). »
